L&L Products is deeply saddened to share the passing of co-founder, W. Eugene 'Gene' Lane, on February 18, 2024. Mr. Lane started L&L Products in 1958 with co-founder Mr. Robert Ligon, was active in management until the late 1970s, and served on the board until the late 1990s.
Mr. Lane and Mr. Ligon established the L&L Educational Foundation in 1987 because they wanted to give back to those who helped make L&L Products a successful company and a good place for all who touch it. They decided that support for education was another area where they could make a difference in the lives of employee families and, hopefully, generations to come. Both Mr. Lane and Mr. Ligon were passionate in their support for the L&L Educational Foundation. They were active as Foundation Trustees and attended annual award banquets for many years. Their efforts and support have equipped the Foundation to continue its excellent work for many, many years to come.
Mr. Lane grew up in the town of Almont, Michigan, and attended college shortly after graduating high school in 1949. He then went on to complete military service, and following, he met back up with his high school friend Mr. Robert Ligon to begin L&L Products. Mr. Lane left a lasting positive impact on L&L Products employees globally and the communities the Company resides in. He is, in part, responsible for shaping our culture and instilling the values we live every day.
We offer our greatest sympathy to all who are impacted by this great loss.
Sincerely,
The Family of W. Eugene 'Gene' Lane
